The first excerpt brings us to the attention of Atoll Goodmanson, a man who was busy drifting through the life put in front of him. He is hijacked by the authorities because he contains illegal technology, which he has because of a long shelved project experimenting with artificial consciousness.

Drugged by undercover policewomen, he is unaware of what’s going on, other than a panicked communication with the ‘person’ he has inside his mind, Marcus Godstrand, a residual consequence of the plasticonscious development project. We assume Atoll was taken to some secret techno-lab and processed with some techno-machine, but later we will be hit by the full force of the techno-insanity that has evolved.

He wakes up without a body and stuck in a small, messy bedsit.

Techno-prisoners!
